Here to Help

At Divemaster Scuba we have a full-time BS-AC Advanced Instructor available to help with your training. Whether a single lesson or a whole day's open water training we can accommodate most requirements including equipment hire.

If you need some extra practice, as a current member of any BS-AC Branch you will be welcome to share our training facilities, which include the fabulous 6 meter pool at Ponds Forge at a very reasonable cost.

We have several branches join us at numerous locations giving them extra flexibility in their own training.

A number of BS-AC branches have joined us on our great value holidays, again providing extra benefits for their members. For those cold water diving, we supply Sherwood Blizzard regulators, and we are also stockists of Buddy BCD's from AP Valves.

BS-AC

The British Sub Aqua Club is the national governing body for underwater swimming in England. Scotland has it's own association. They work closely with the Health and Safety Executive and other agencies to promote safe and responsible Scuba Diving.

BS-AC have both a Branch and a School system in the UK and abroad. Generally they are not as widely recognised as PADI, and the Branch training reflects more the self help approach of the branch and club system as opposed to the the Professional standards adopted by Dive Schools. If you are looking to teach SCUBA in the branch / club system, BS-AC have helped by recently relaxing the requirement for branch training personnel to have medical examinations in favour of a self certification system. They can also operate outside of the Health and Safety guidelines without risk of prosecution. This can be a great bonus where time and personel are restricted.

BS-AC Dive Schools

Professional Dive schools are governed very closely by the Health and Safety Executive. There are very strict requirements over stringent medicals for Instructors and underwater safety staff, strict legal requirements for equipment servicing and suitability, plus a whole raft of legislation designed to make training in the sport safe and enjoyable.

At Divemaster Scuba, we have the best of both worlds. Operating out of our Nottingham address, our BS-AC School is aimed at bringing professional level training to BS-AC club and branch members, as and when they require it. We can offer anything from a single pool session right up to full courses. For us to teach you professionally, you must either be a member of our associated Branch, or be a members of Central Branch. Members of other branches are required to get the permission of their Branch Diving Officer before we can help with any training. In a BS-AC branch it is the diving Officer who signs the certification, not the instructor.

Free Dive Leader Training

The Dive Leader qualification from BS-AC includes decompression and deep diving up to 50 metres. We believe that it is essential for professionally qualified divers to have a wide experience of SCUBA training and offer free BS-AC Dive Leader training to all divers who qualify professionally with us.
